EXTENDED DESCRIPTION
This Bike & Hike adventure begins in the center of Cortina d’Ampezzo, where the e‑bike ascent leads through forest roads toward Lago di Pianozes and then to Malga Federa. The climb continues to Rifugio Palmieri, a traditional alpine hut overlooking the Croda da Lago group. The ride takes around 1.5 hours at a steady, manageable pace thanks to the support of the e‑bike.
At the hut, the bikes are left behind and the hiking section begins: a panoramic loop that climbs toward the Rocchetta (2496 m) and circles the Becco di Mezzodì. This area offers some of the most impressive views in the Dolomites, with open ridges, quiet meadows and sweeping vistas over Mondeval, Lastoi de Formin and the surrounding valleys. The hike takes approximately 4 hours and includes both forested sections and high‑altitude terrain.
After returning to Rifugio Palmieri, there is time for a break or lunch before descending back to Cortina by bike, following a scenic route through Pocol. The final descent takes about one hour.
This experience is ideal for active hikers and cyclists looking for a full‑day adventure that combines two disciplines. The route is physically demanding but technically manageable, offering a rewarding mix of landscapes, viewpoints and alpine atmosphere. A certified hiking guide ensures safety, pacing and a high‑quality outdoor experience throughout the day.
