Experience Description
This accessible and scenic hike begins near the “Potestagno” bus stop, following a gentle forest road that leads to the San Uberto area. From here, the trail climbs steadily through larch and spruce woods, offering a peaceful and immersive approach to Malga Ra Stua — one of the most iconic alpine huts in the Dolomiti d’Ampezzo Natural Park. The ascent takes around two hours at a comfortable pace, with opportunities to observe local flora, wildlife and the geological features that define this protected area.
After a short break at the hut, the experience continues with an optional loop of up to 3.5 km across open meadows and quiet woodland. This section is very easy and takes place on a wide plateau, ideal for discovering the natural environment, learning about the history of the valley and enjoying panoramic views far from the busiest trails.
Guests who prefer a slower rhythm may remain at the hut until the group returns. Lunch is available at Malga Ra Stua, featuring traditional local products and a relaxed alpine atmosphere.
